These instructions are intended to document the usage of the splits feature.

Overview

The splits feature allows you to record the splits of racers.
The taking of the splits is crowdsourced, meaning that parents or coaches of different teams record splits for their own team by using the altcode of the event (not the event code), which is distributed by the manager of the race.

Taking Splits

Stand at your designated split location. Enter the altcode of the meet given to you by the manager of the meet, and enter your name (can be anything as long as the coach can identify you by it) and set the distance dropdown. For optimal splittaking, use the 'bump' button to order racers. As racers approach, press the bump button in the order of the racers you see. This will organize them so that you can simply press the 'set' button from the top to assign times. If you are unsure of a racers identity, you can use the inbuilt picture taker to take a photo of the racer as they run by. These images should be identified later in the splits editor.

Editing

Enter the altcode into the Splits Editor. You can modify times, and the distance the time was taken at in the table. In the 'Assign Photos' tab, you may identify pictures that were taken during the race and assign racers

Troubleshooting

The 'set' button or the 'Take Picture' button is grayed out
- Ensure that the 'name' field is filled out and the race has started, the system will not allow you to record any times unless a name is entered.
I entered multiple racers under the wrong distance
- You can change the distance of a recorded split in the Splits Editor. Just click on the table and change the relevant splits distance using the dropdown
